# Pi Console Color Toolkit Public, reusable color enhancements for interactive Bash on Raspberry Pi OS / Debian. ## Features - Green user/host, blue working directory, magenta Git branch. - Colored `ls`, `grep`, `diff`, and readable `less -R`. - `ccze` journal views, optional rainbow status message. - Handy `bat`/`fd` aliases for Debian's `batcat`/`fdfind`. - Does **not** modify SSH, firewall, system services, or system-wide `/etc` shell settings. ## Installation Copy this folder onto the Pi, then from inside the folder: ```bash bash install.sh source ~/.bashrc ``` Requires an ordinary user with `sudo` rights and internet access for `apt`. Designed for Bash on Raspberry Pi OS Bookworm and Debian-based systems. It installs `ccze grc lolcat bat fd-find git` via apt; `grc` is available for manual use, e.g. `grc ping -c 3 1.1.1.1`. ## Commands ```bash ll # detailed directory listing la # include hidden entries jcolor # recent system journal, colorized jnode # airless-node journal, if that service exists jocr # airless-ocr-shipper journal, if it exists ports # listening sockets bat README.md # syntax-highlighted file fd README # find filenames yay # rainbow message ``` The service-specific aliases are optional and harmless if the services are absent. Aliases apply to interactive Bash for the installing user, **not** all user accounts. For each account, run the installer under that account. Log files stay uncolored to avoid embedding ANSI escape sequences in stored logs. ## Uninstall ```bash bash uninstall.sh source ~/.bashrc ``` This removes the added Bash loader and config files but leaves installed apt packages alone. ## Security and reliability Review shell scripts before running. This package never asks for SSH passwords or keys and does not enable remote access. It avoids overriding `cat` or altering scripts' command behavior. Back up your existing `.bashrc` if it contains customizations. ## License MIT — see LICENSE.
